Credit Crunch Having Little Effect On Mobile Phone Market

Out of all the scenarios put to consumers in a recent January 2009 UK survey, the majority found that the credit crunch had had little bearing on their mobile lives so far. In total, 64% of respondents answered ‘none of these’ when asked how their mobile habits would change. However, as negative growth continues with the prospect of increasing job losses, the economy will start to impinge more on these attitudes.

Nevertheless, the market is insulated to some extent, thanks to falling prices. At the same time, the increasingly converged aspect of mobile devices may mean new models continue to be a compelling alternative to dedicated MP3 players and digital cameras.
